A new book , a gift from Angie who knows I am a weed. I am looking forward to reading The Story of the Beloved and Despised Dandelion. There will be interesting facts and fables and I will share some of them with you. I have a few recipes that I will share in the spring when the sunny skies and warm weather return and bring with them the beautiful little suns that can cover your lawn or yard as they say here in the country. I mostly consider mine a field and therefore don't get too excited about removing them. This year I am planning on eating some of them.

On venturing out this morning I saw there had been a little activity on the pond last night. After several nights of teen temperatures the pond remains frozen and the animals are clearly in need of a drink. Numerous tracks are evident at both ends of the pond and I like the way that the traveler(s) crisscrossed the tracks for the X mark. Temperatures are forecast to rise into the forties this week and a thawing will give the thirsty creatures a drink.

A beautiful and cold day to start the new year. Temperatures in the twenty's today and the sky filled with cottony white clouds. The wind tugged tears from my eyes as the granddoggies and I went for our walk. We only made one lap around the fields today, not that the doggies seconded that decision.
