Wintry Day & Dog Violet

It is cold,  snow is on the ground and the wind gusting can make it look as through there is a blizzard going on outside. The sun stayed in bed today and I need/want the sunshine. It helps keep me out of the kitchen and from foraging in the cabinets and refrigerator.
The beautiful little flower in the photo is the American Dog Violet and it will soon ( I hope) be showing it's sweet face all around the yard. This is a flower that can be 'sugared' and used as decorations on cakes etc. and is edible.

  2. It seems that once the New Year hits, a lot of us feel like winter should be over with - let's just move on to spring. Sigh. If only. You've held out the hope of spring in that beautiful photo.

Thanks for the movie recommendation - I'll look it up.
