Rubbish and .... thoughts....

I know this piece was intact when it came into my possession but time and accidents have taken a toll...still i don't part with it...have made many offhand remarks about it...and now use it to remind me that we are not always the saint or angel we believe ourselves to be and sometimes we just lose out heads and do and say senseless things....

Up and Over....

the fence....years ago I grew gourds on these arbors constructed of re-purposed John Deere mower packing crates and woven wire fence...it was a 'race to the top' for the gourd plants...

the plants are near the end of the season here and some gourds are being supported with small platforms made from scrap particle board that I have attached to the fencing...

take a visit to Good Fences where you'll see great fences and gates...

Broken Fences...

The Scene After

...an old bucket truck being transported to the local scrap yard by a towing service... broke loose from the tow cable and crashed into the fence...

two heavy duty tow trucks returned

...and righted the truck ...no one was hurt....
they'll send  someone to repair the fence.

Grey Skies...

...here today as seen behind the catkins on a wild cherry tree.
Rain forecast for most of the weekend.

Catkins on a brighter day. These beautiful small flowers perfume
the air with their delicate scent.

A tree in full bloom is pretty beautiful.

Rubbish Bits....

A small bit of rubbish found at the back fence. I don't know what color this was in the box but I do like the washed out blue that time has given it and of course the rust is a favorite.

A quick sketch makes for a reuse of the materials.

The Green Sea...

Watching the wind move across this field of wheat makes me think of the ocean. Those tree clumps are just islands in the distance. Rain (much) has put us in the middle of a sea of green. Those clouds above ...may hold more rain.

A Favorite Place

A perfectly rusted fence....

on a rural road....

marking the grounds of an old cemetery.
I do love old cemeteries,  the feelings experienced there are sometimes profound. I always leave with a different thinking.

Mixed Media Art...

...using an assortment of artist materials, found objects and embellishments to create a work of art. I look at this and think 'qualified'. I may use it as a stARTing place to do my own mixed media project.

Call to Morning

I spent a good part of my growing up life on the farm and mornings were announced by the resident rooster(s).  This metal sculpted rooster is doing his part. He did not reside on my property though.

He was spending his days at this restored log home just down the road from where I live. For many years it operated as a bed and breakfast and was a wonderful place to visit.

Spring Whites +

Every day our walks are filled with more flowering trees and other beauties.

Cherry Tree blossoms.

Not sure who this nest belongs to. The eggs look like robin but the nest construction does not. Loose grasses laid in a previous bird nest (not robin) from last year. Will be looking for these parents to be.

Blossoms on the Crab Apple tree.

An older Redbud tree in bloom. The crappie  are biting when this tree blooms.

A non  bearing (escaped Bradford ) pear tree in beautiful bloom.

Home Sweet Home

The entrance to a home in the shape of a heart.

The main resident is Dug, a groundhog. All the groundhogs here are named Dug.
A drawing I did in pencil for the 29 faces challenge in February here.

Mandy being patient. She does 'not' exhibit this behavior when Dug appears.

A beautiful sunrise a few days ago. There was rain yesterday and rain again this morning but there is a chance of sunshine late this afternoon.

Signs of Spring are bursting out all around us.
