A Favorite Place

A perfectly rusted fence....

on a rural road....

marking the grounds of an old cemetery.
I do love old cemeteries,  the feelings experienced there are sometimes profound. I always leave with a different thinking.
Linking to Good Fences...go take a look at all the fences, gates and interesting sites.

  3. You're so right. Sometimes it's best to leave a rusty old fence to rust some more and give it extra character rather than paint it rather badly.

  14. Hi Marilyn, thank you for dropping by. I do think your choice of the rusty fence around the old cemetery is just great. I once was involved in the recording of native plants within an old cemetery and was amazed at the variety that no longer grow outside of that little patch.
I enjoyed looking through your other blogs too - and enjoy your art and all things associated. I'll be a regular visitor. Cheerio for now :D)

  16. Your pictures remind me of our Stonewall Jackson Cemetery where he and his family are buried. I love walking thru it and looking at the iron fences around the old grave sites. Loved you post. Thanks for the visit to my blog.
